✨ Follow these steps carefully to ensure the best color retention and smooth healing. ✨
🔹 IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE PROCEDURE (DAY 1)
Gently blot your lips every 15–30 minutes with a clean tissue to absorb lymph fluid.
Do NOT let lips stay wet — keep them dry and clean.
Apply a thin layer of the recommended healing ointment every few hours (do NOT over-apply).
Expect lips to appear dark, bold, and swollen — this is temporary.
🔹 DAYS 2–7: PEELING STAGE
Do NOT pick, peel, or rub your lips as they flake or scab — let it shed naturally.
Continue applying a thin layer of aftercare ointment 3–5 times a day.
Avoid:
Kissing or touching lips unnecessarily
Spicy, salty, oily, or acidic foods
Hot beverages (let them cool first)
Alcohol and smoking (can delay healing)
Makeup or skincare products on the lips
Use a straw when drinking to minimize moisture.
🔹 DAYS 8–14: FADING PHASE
The color may appear very light or patchy — this is NORMAL.
Do NOT panic. Pigment will gradually return over the next few weeks.
Continue using a lip balm or healing ointment to keep lips hydrated.
Avoid exfoliation or lip treatments.
🔹 WEEKS 3–6: COLOR BLOOMING
Your natural lip color starts to reemerge and soften.
True color results develop slowly and can take up to 6 weeks to fully stabilize.
Stay hydrated, eat well, and protect your lips from the sun.
🔹 WEEKS 6–8: PERFECTING STAGE
Time to assess your results.
Book your touch-up session (if needed) to refine the shape or adjust the tone.
Long-lasting results depend on aftercare, skin type, and lifestyle.
🚫 WHAT TO AVOID FOR 2 WEEKS
Sun exposure / tanning
Saunas, steam rooms, and excessive sweating
Pools, hot tubs, and saltwater
Chemical peels, laser treatments, or exfoliants near the lips
Products with retinol, glycolic acid, or strong actives around the mouth
⚠️ IMPORTANT: COLD SORE (HERPES) PRECAUTION
Lip blushing can trigger a cold sore outbreak, even if you haven’t had one in a long time.
If you have a history of cold sores, it’s recommended to take antiviral medication (like Valtrex) before and after your appointment as advised by your doctor.
If you notice signs of an outbreak (tingling, blisters, pain), seek medical treatment immediately.
Do NOT pick or touch the area — this can affect healing and final results.
✅ LONG-TERM CARE
Use SPF lip balm daily to prevent fading.
Keep lips moisturized and hydrated.
Avoid smoking for better pigment retention.
Schedule annual refresh sessions to maintain color.
