✅ IMMEDIATE AFTERCARE: HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR NEW BROWS

To ensure optimal healing and pigment retention, follow these instructions precisely:

🌿 Cleansing Routine (Days 1–7):

• Clean the treated area 3 to 5 times per day, approximately every 4 to 6 hours.
• Use lukewarm water and a clean, lint-free gauze pad or cotton round (no washcloths or sponges).
• Gently dab to cleanse the area — do not rub.
• Pat completely dry using a clean tissue or dry gauze. Never let the area stay wet.
• After drying, apply a very thin layer of the aftercare ointment provided by your artist (usually a healing barrier cream).
• Do not over-apply ointment — brows should not look greasy or feel heavy.

⚠️ Avoid using regular soaps or facial cleansers directly on the brows for the first 5–7 days.

🔍 WHAT TO EXPECT DURING THE HEALING PROCESS

Healing happens in phases — here’s what you’ll likely experience:

📆 Immediately to Day 3:

• Brows will appear darker, more intense, and more defined. This is normal.
• The treated area may feel tight, dry, or similar to a mild sunburn.
• Redness or tenderness around the area may occur temporarily.

📆 Days 4–7:

• Brows may begin to flake or scab lightly. This is the body’s natural exfoliation process.
• DO NOT PICK or peel the scabs — allow them to flake off naturally.
• Some areas may look patchy — this is normal.

📆 Weeks 2–4:

• After flaking, brows may appear much lighter or faded. Don’t worry — pigment will re-emerge slowly.
• A shiny layer of new skin may cover the brows temporarily, muting the color.

📆 Weeks 6–8:

• The true healed color of the brows will settle.
• A touch-up appointment can be scheduled at this stage to perfect shape and pigment.

🚫 WHAT NOT TO DO DURING HEALING

• ❌ Do not use any skincare products containing:
  • Retin-A, Retinol, AHAs, BHAs (Glycolic, Lactic, Salicylic acid), Vitamin C, Benzoyl Peroxide, Hydroquinone, or other brightening agents.
• ❌ Do not apply makeup, foundation, or concealer over the brow area for at least 14 days.
• ❌ Avoid sweating, exercise, or saunas for 7–10 days, as sweat contains salt which fades pigment.
• ❌ Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning beds for at least 4 weeks.
• ❌ No swimming, hot tubs, lakes, or oceans for 2 weeks post-procedure.
• ❌ Do not scratch, rub, or touch the treated area unnecessarily.
• ❌ Avoid threading, waxing, tinting, or tweezing the brow area for at least 3 weeks.
• ❌ Do not use Vaseline, Neosporin, Aquaphor, or any petroleum-based products unless instructed.

🛁 SHOWERING/BATHING

• You may shower, but avoid letting water directly hit your brows.
• Wash your face gently around the treated area — use a washcloth or cleansing wipe to avoid getting the brows wet.
• Do not submerge your face underwater in the bath.
• After showering, dry the brow area immediately and reapply aftercare ointment.

☀️ ONCE HEALED

• Apply sunscreen (SPF 30+) on the brows once fully healed to prevent fading.
• Avoid chemical peels, microdermabrasion, or laser treatments on or around the brow area unless fully healed and your technician is informed.
• If receiving laser treatments or facial resurfacing, let your technician know you have a cosmetic tattoo.

• Results vary based on skin type, lifestyle, aftercare, and medications.
• Brows are not considered fully healed until 6–8 weeks post-procedure.
• A touch-up is recommended at 6–8 weeks for color adjustments and to perfect shape or detail.
• Failure to follow aftercare instructions can result in loss of pigment, patchy healing, or scarring.
