Pre-Care Instructions

Proper preparation is essential for achieving the best results with your permanent makeup procedure. At NhiBrows Permanent Makeup, we are committed to delivering safe, high-quality results.

By proceeding with your appointment, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to all instructions and disclosures below.


General Pre-Care Guidelines

  • Please arrive with a clean, makeup-free face
  • Do not consume alcohol, caffeine, or energy drinks at least 24 hours prior (these increase bleeding and affect pigment retention)
  • Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E, or blood-thinning substances for 48 hours prior (unless prescribed by your physician)
  • Avoid tanning or sunburn before your appointment
  • Eat a light meal before your appointment to prevent lightheadedness

Medical Disclosure (REQUIRED)

You must inform us prior to your appointment if you have any of the following:

  • History of cold sores / herpes simplex virus (HSV-1)
  • Diabetes
  • Autoimmune disorders
  • Skin conditions (eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, etc.)
  • Keloid scarring or poor wound healing
  • Allergies to pigments, numbing agents, or topical products
  • Pregnancy or nursing
  • Current medications or ongoing medical treatments

❗ If you are unsure about any condition, you are required to consult with your doctor prior to your appointment.

Failure to disclose medical conditions may result in complications for which NhiBrows is not liable.


Procedure-Specific Pre-Care

Brows (Ombre, Nano, Combination)

  • No waxing, tinting, or threading 1 week prior
  • Avoid Retin-A, AHA, exfoliating products for 2 weeks prior
  • Avoid Botox or fillers near brow area 2–4 weeks prior

Lip Blush (IMPORTANT MEDICAL NOTICE)

⚠️ Lip blush procedures can trigger a cold sore (herpes) outbreak, even if you have not had one in years.

If you have ANY history of cold sores, you are required to:

✔️ Obtain an antiviral prescription

✔️ Begin medication at least 1–2 days prior to your appointment

✔️ Continue medication for several days after the procedure

❗ If you are unsure whether you have had cold sores, you must consult with your doctor before your appointment.

❗ Failure to take antiviral medication when required may result in complications including outbreak, poor healing, and unsatisfactory results. This is the client’s responsibility.

Additional Lip Prep:

  • No lip fillers 4 weeks prior
  • Keep lips moisturized
  • Gently exfoliate 2–3 days before

Eyeliner Tattoo

  • No contact lenses (bring glasses)
  • Stop lash serums 4 weeks prior
  • Remove lash extensions 48 hours prior
  • No eye makeup on day of procedure

Healing & Results Expectations

  • Swelling, redness, tenderness are normal
  • Color will appear darker initially and soften 30–50% during healing
  • Uneven or patchy healing is normal during the process
  • Final results take 4–8 weeks
  • touch-up session is required for optimal results

❗ Results are not guaranteed and vary based on skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare compliance.


Risks & Possible Complications

While rare, you acknowledge that the following may occur:

  • Swelling, redness, bruising
  • Infection (especially if aftercare is not followed)
  • Allergic reaction
  • Poor pigment retention
  • Uneven or patchy results
  • Scarring (rare)
  • Cold sore outbreak (lip procedures)

Appointment Policy

  • Arriving with:
    • Active skin irritation
    • Illness
    • Improper preparation

→ May result in rescheduling and loss of deposit
